The leadership of the Ukrainian aircraft manufacturer “Antonov”, which is part of the concern “Ukroboronprom” intends to impose a ban on flights of Russian aircraft An-124-100 “Ruslan” in Russia, if the owners of the ships refuse services of the Ukrainian aircraft manufacturers, warned the President of “Antonov” Alexander Kotsyuba.

According to him, at present, Russian operators of An-124-100 “make active efforts” to ensure that technical support freighters engaged not developed the aircraft “Antonov”, JSC “Aviation complex named Ilyushin”.

“They can internally to correct these rules, laws, whatever. Another issue is that we as a developer have the right to put a ban on the flights of their aircraft outside of Russia”, β€” said Kotsyuba (quoted by “RIA Novosti”).

In early August, the press service of “Antonov” has released an official statement, which noted that any attempt to abandon the services of the company for the maintenance of airworthiness “Ruslan” will be a gross violation of the standards of the International civil aviation organization (ICAO), aviation and the rules and regulations of the European Union, the USA, Ukraine and Russia.

“In the case of output of civil planes Anβˆ’124βˆ’100 “Ruslan” under the supervision of the Antonov company, the company will be forced to turn to the international aviation organization’s statement of withdrawal from the responsibility for ensuring the safe operation of these aircraft on international routes. Possible in this case of an aircraft accident involve a threat to life and property of the citizens of those countries which will operate these aircraft”, β€” noted in a statement the aircraft manufacturer.

Antonov an-124-100 created on the basis of heavy military transport aircraft An-124. It is the lifting of a mass-produced plane in the world and is designed to transport over long distances heavy and bulky goods, various special equipment. The combination of these technical characteristics, such as volume of cargo cabin, flight range, possibility to load without special loading equipment allows to transport heavy and bulky loads of up to 120 t at extremely large distances.
