Communication network of the cellular operator “MegaFon” in Moscow, almost restored. The cause of the problem was a software malfunction and hardware from Hewlett Packard
Director of “MegaFon” public relations Peter Lidov in the official Telegram-channel called the cause of failure in the network. As explained by the Leads, problems with the dialler has arisen due to software updates (software) that is installed on the data processing system of the company.
“A failure led to the fact that there is a constant peak load on the system, causing it to fail. Currently, the owner of this software and hardware, Hewlett Packard is looking for system solutions,” said Lidov. According to him, the engineers of “Megaphone”, in turn, engaged in the redistribution of the load with idle systems to work with. He noted that the company expects to resolve the problem within a few hours. Dinos also announced that the company intends “to draw conclusions, to avoid similar situations in the future.”
He said the problem affected “a large number of people in Moscow and several major cities of the Volga region”. The company brought them to apologize. Leads called the incident “the biggest problem with the connection on his memory.”
