The Ministry has developed a draft order, allowing buyers of alcohol to prove their age with a driver’s license. It is expected that the document will come into force on 31 March of the current year
The Ministry has proposed to allow to take in the stores driver’s license as proof of age. The corresponding draft order of the Ministry of industry and trade published on the portal of projects of normative legal acts.
The remaining items in the list of documents confirming age of a purchaser of alcohol, remained the same. A total of 12 — in particular, the passport of the citizen of Russia or another state, passport, temporary identity card, identity card, diplomatic passport, service passport, identity card of a serviceman or military card, residence permit or temporary residence permit in Russia, refugee certificate, and certificate on granting temporary asylum on the territory of Russia.
The project was developed for “updating the list of documents allowing to establish age of the buyer” of alcohol, if the seller doubts the age of majority stated in the explanatory note to the draft. Changes are consistent with the provisions of the Treaty on the Eurasian economic Union and other international treaties, the authors of the document.
It is expected that the order will come into force on 31 March 2017. The previous order of 15 April 2011, listing the documents received with the purchase of alcoholic beverages, will be canceled.
